When clearing up my studio I found this small pile of drawings. They would have been made some time between 2005 and 2008, although I cannot remember actually making them. I recognise them as being made by me, but the process is blank in my mind. So I have no idea what they are about.

The drawings were accompanied by an A5 book containing a mythology involving a confused creator who made a butterfly and a unicorn as her first creations. The three have many pseudo-philosophical conversations. At some point the first humans emerge spontaneously from the earth, and they get pulled into the conversations too, along with other creatures of unknown origin like spiders and penguins. The mythology seems to be about the creator discovering what her purpose for existing is.
Again, I don’t recall writing it down, although it is unmistakably my writing.
Although there are no unicorns or butterflies in these drawings, I believe them to be early portraits of the creator in the mythology, because of the dragons. The very first things that exist is pure chaos and that’s what dragons are, incarnate chaos.
Another clue is the star on the forehead of the dame below – I recognise it from The Last Unicorn animated film.
