I was told recently to start keeping a visual diary.
But now I am torn, because I see two options:
#1: Visual diary as a personal, expressive, emotional journal (much like Mariza’s);
#2: Visual diary as a place to engage in visual research (playing with images and media).
Writing this dilemma down has given me the answer. It is
YES.
Yes to #1 personal journal and yes to #2 visual research.
Why not?
Just because the personal journal aspect is too personal for me to share with others doesn’t mean I shouldn’t do it.
